Thank you 2024!
As 2024 comes to a close, we celebrate the 5th year of JAU.
JAU began as a small dream of bringing Australian design to the welcoming arms of Japanese design lovers. Through the challenges of the pandemic and economic shifts, JAU has still held onto the mission of uniting Japan and Australia through a shared love of design. Here are some of our highlights of this year!
In September of this year, we proudly hosted our first-ever exhibition Australia Now in the lively streets of Shibuya. Featuring the work of 12 talented Australian designers, the event brought Japanese design enthusiasts together to celebrate and explore the essence of Australian creativity.
We were also thrilled to welcome visits from some of our wonderful designers and had the chance to visit their inspiring studios back in Australia!
Our reuse organisation Less Plastic became a regular participant in the Ikebukuro Living Loop, a vibrant, community-driven market held every other month in the heart of Ikebukuro. Here, we launched a returnable cup program with our brand KeepCup in collaboration with local vendors, promoting sustainability and reducing waste during the events.

We also participated in twenty amazing pop ups throughout the year! These events allowed us to connect with more people than ever before while strengthening our relationships with the wonderful business customers who support us.
