30 Milk Bottle Caps = 1 Lucky Things Plant Pin

Australian milk bottles are crafted from food-grade plastic, typically with a colourful cap. While the bottles are recyclable, the small lids are more challenging to dispose of. They often fall through recycling machinery and end up in landfill or cause jams by getting stuck in the mechanisms.

To address this, Lucky Things transforms this common plastic waste into 100% recycled plastic Plant Pins, handmade in a Melbourne warehouse!

Hand Crafted

Lucky Things was created by good friends and designers Grace, Victoria, and Amalia. They aim to challenge the mass-manufactured, unsustainable homewares culture by using recycled and minimal impact materials and production methods.

To create these plant pins their unique design is turned into a mould, which is then filled with melted recycled plastic made from a combination of different milk bottle caps. Doing things differently takes extra time and care, especially as each Plant Pin is made individually by hand!

One of a kind Plant Accessories

Lucky Things Plant Pins boast custom colours crafted from a blend of recycled plastics. Each bottle cap is sorted by colour, ground into smaller pieces, and blended to create the varied colours found in the Lucky Things range. Embracing their handmade nature, these slight colour variations add to the charm of each piece.
